Clarksburg Historic District

Streetscape Design Guidelines Project

Montgomery County is developing streetscape design guidelines for the Clarksburg Historic District and we can’t do it without you! There will be meetings to gather public input on July 1 and July 22 at the Clarksburg Ombudman’s office at 23201 Stringtown Road beginning at 7:00 PM.

The July 1 workshop begins with a Visual Preference Survey in which dozens of possible streetscape elements are examined and rated for their desirability. For example, the picture at left shows a familiar scene along Route 355 today. Could this area grow into the image at right? Come out and share your thoughts with us!

The July 22 meeting will include a presentation of findings from the July 1 Visual Preference Survey and draft guidelines for discussion and comment.

Please let us know if you’re planning to attend one of the meetings by contacting Matthew Greene at the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs by phone at (240) 777-3631 or by email at Matthew.greene@montgomerycountymd.gov.
