12th American Indian Festival to be Held in Rockville

The traditions, programs, color and pageantry of the American Indian will be highlighted at the 12th Annual American Indian Festival to be held on November 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Executive Office Building (Terrace and Lobby Levels), 101 Monroe Street, Rockville.

The free festival will feature entertainment, lectures, crafts, educational displays and native food for the entire family. Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, County Council President Phil Andrews, Rockville Mayor Susan Hoffmann and other County officials will present proclamations recognizing November as American Indian Heritage month. The Grand Entry -- featuring a parade of dancers, posting of the colors and presentation of the proclamation -- will begin at noon.

The event is sponsored by the Offices of the Montgomery County Executive, Office of Community Partnerships, The City of Rockville, Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL), and the American Indian Society of Washington, DC.

The Executive Office Building is one block west of the Rockville Metro Station (Red Line) and parking is available along Monroe Street by the building and on the lower level of the Council Office Building garage on the corner of Jefferson and Monroe streets.
