Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will kick off Caribbean American Heritage Month with a special celebration featuring a panel discussion and a community reception. The event will include Caribbean art, music and food, and will be held on Wednesday, June 4 from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Executive Office Building lobby level auditorium, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville.
Leggett will issue a joint proclamation with the County Council proclaiming June as Caribbean American Heritage Month. Montgomery County Board of Education member Dr. Judy Docca will lead a group of national and local Caribbean American leaders in the panel discussion entitled, “Education and Job Opportunities for Caribbean Youth.”
The reception is sponsored by the Howard University Institute of Intellectual Property and Social Justice and by Zane Networks of Silver Spring.
