| Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early yesterday morning in Silver Spring.
Preliminary investigation indicates that at about 2:04 a.m. on February 25, a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer, driven by 22-year-old Bryan Hall Jones of the unit block of Cabin Creek Court in Burtonsville, was traveling eastbound on Tech Road in Silver Spring. At the intersection of Tech Road and Route 29, Jones’ car collided with a 1993 Lexus 300 operated by 32-year-old Thong Huu Nguyen of the 8600 block of Golden Grain Court in Ellicott City, which was traveling northbound on Route 29. Witnesses indicate that Jones’ car traveled through a flashing red signal, as Nguyen’s car was traveling through a flashing yellow signal.
Nguyen was transported to MedStar with life-threatening injuries, and died a few hours later at the hospital. Jones suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
