| Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 2nd District Investigative Section continue to investigate the shooting that occurred on Thursday, October 8, 2009, in Bethesda.
The victim, a 54-year-old man, from the 6800 block of Millwood Road remains hospitalized in stable condition. Through the course of the investigation it was learned that a small, dark-colored car was seen on Millwood Road traveling in the direction of Goldsboro Road near the time that the shooting occurred. It was being driven with its lights off. Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw this vehicle, or who has any other information regarding the shooting.
It was approximately 7:30 p.m. on October 8, that 2nd District officers responded for the report of a shooting that had just occurred in the 6800 block of Millwood Road in Bethesda. The preliminary investigation revealed that the 54-year-old male victim was alone in his car and had just returned home. He had driven his car into his attached garage, but had not yet gotten out of the vehicle. He was shot by an unknown suspect, who fired a gun at least one time. The suspect was last seen fleeing from the victim’s driveway.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of the injury he sustained. That night a thorough search of the community was conducted by patrol officers, K-9 officers, and by helicopter. The suspect was not located that night and remains at-large.
The suspect is described only as an individual of medium build who was dressed in dark clothing and wore a mask.
