US 29 Central Corridor Advisory Committee

(From New Hampshire Ave to Capital Beltway)

Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is planning to design and construct a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line along US 29 to meet the needs of residents and businesses along this busy route. The project extends from the Burtonsville Park & Ride lot south to the Silver Spring Transit Center, a distance of about 12 miles. (For more information on the project, please visit the project page).

To facilitate communication with corridor advisory committees (CACs), it was decided to have two CACs each one focusing on a different segment of the corridor. But after April 2017, three CACs instead of two CACs have been assigned to the corridor. These three CACs are the following:

  1. US 29 North Corridor Advisory Committee. It comprises community representatives located along the segment that extends from the Burtonsville Park & Ride lot to New Hampshire Avenue.
  2. US 29 Central Corridor Advisory Committee. It comprises community representatives located along the segment that extends from New Hampshire Avenue to Capital Beltway.
  3. US 29 South Corridor Advisory Committee. It comprises community representatives located along the segment that  extends from Capital Beltway to the Silver Spring Transit Center.

Note: map on left presents the potential BRT stations under study as of February, 2017.
