AN EXPEDITED ACT to authorize the planning, design, and construction of the Capital Crescent Trail, Project No. 501316, in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Silver Spring-Takoma Park Policy Areas.

The County Council for Montgomery County, Maryland approves the following Act:

Sec. 1.   The laws of Montgomery County, Maryland, are amended to add the following:

          Montgomery County, Maryland, is authorized to plan, design, and construct the Capital Crescent Trail Project No. 501316, in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Silver Spring-Takoma Park Policy Areas.  This authorization includes all necessary planning, design, site improvements, equipment, and structures.

Sec. 2.  Expedited Effective Date.

          The Council declares that this legislation is necessary for the immediate protection of the public interest.  This Act takes effect on the date on which it becomes law.
