About the Board of Trustees - People


MARISA N. GRANT

Ms. Grant is the Acting Chief Investment Officer for Montgomery County Public Schools where she is responsible for developing the investment policy and strategy for the defined benefit pension.  Ms. Grant is the primary liaison between the Board of Investment Trustees and a diverse range of internal and external contacts, including consultants, investment managers, custodians, etc.  Ms. Grant also oversees defined contribution retirement plans offered by MCPS to employees. 

Prior to joining MCPS, Ms. Grant was a Vice President with Musa Capital in Johannesburg where she worked on a public/private initiative to attract capital to finance affordable housing in South Africa.  Previously she was a Vice President at AllianceBernstein in New York where she was an equity research analyst.  While at AllianceBernstein, Ms. Grant covered several industries including publishing, advertising, broadcasters, mortgage finance companies, and regional banks.  Previously Ms. Grant worked at Goldman Sachs in New York as an analyst in the U.S. Economics Research Group.  Ms. Grant started her career at the investment consulting firm Cambridge Associates in Boston. 

Ms. Grant received her MBA degree from Columbia Business School and received her BA degree in economics from Yale University.
