Now Showing
Champion Trees & Forest Stewards
Beginning Sunday, October 22, 2006
You may not know it, but there’s a good chance that you’re living in the
middle of a forest – an urban forest Join GreenMan host Joe Keyser to learn
more about that forest, as well as tree-related education programs,
schoolyard reforestation, and champion trees, and meet some of the
outstanding stewards of this vital part of our local ecosystem.. Our special
guests are members of the Forestry Board, and include Dave Honchalk, from
the Smith Environmental Education Center, David Plummer, manager for the
Montgomery County Soil Conservation District, and Joe Howard, champion tree
sleuth and forestry booster extraordinaire. We’ll also take a trip outdoors
to visit the Goshen Elm, Maryland’s Millennium Tree and the inspiration for
a “one tree park.”
