Montgomery County assures that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Civil Rights Act of 1987, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity. Ride On will host its annual food drive in partnership with Manna Food Center from Sunday, April 23 to Saturday April 29.
Food collection bags will be placed near the fare boxes on all Ride On buses. In addition to non-perishable food, items for children, such as healthy foods, disposable diapers, formula, baby or toddler food and juice are especially needed. Donated items in unbreakable containers only. No glass please.
To show our thanks, you ride free with a donation. If you plan to transfer buses, please bring an additional donation to receive the free ride.
This is a wonderful opportunity to help the needy in our community. Our county is among the wealthiest in the nation, yet 16.3% of the children in the county are food insecure, which is higher than any other Maryland county. This campaign is about more than just free rides; it's about paying it forward and lending out a hand to someone who needs it. Please help us help the hungry in Montgomery County!

You’ll Be Seeing Some Ride On Buses That Look Like This
These buses are regular Ride On buses, but have been wrapped to include messages that are part of the “ See Something, Say Something ” transit security campaign. Three (3) buses will operate on various Ride On routes around Montgomery County. Ride On has joined forces with other transit agencies to bring you information on reporting suspicious behavior around transit stations or vehicles. Funding for the wraps comes from a regional grant from the US Department of Homeland Security. So riders, “keep your good eye open” when you are waiting for your bus by checking the destination sign for your usual route number and destination, even though the bus may not look like your regular Ride On bus. Regular fares apply. We are now accepting full wrap advertising.
Route 28 VanGo FREE Circulator has a new route to better serve the downtown Silver Spring community and the new library. The circulator departs every 12 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.
