Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) in coordination with the Keep Montgomery County Beautiful Task Force (KMCB) celebrated the sixth annual “Dirty Roads and Deli's” project with more than 19 volunteers - who met at Parkway Deli and Restaurant and did roadside cleaning, wrapping up with a free lunch! This year our business partner was Parkway Deli and Restaurant, a very popular local business located at 8317 Grubb Road in Silver Spring.

Volunteers collected sixteen bags of trash, three bags of recyclable materials, and assorted other items within two hours of the project.  This helped to improve the appearance of Grubb Road, East-West Highway, and numerous surrounding neighborhood streets as well as the parking lot of the shopping center. In so doing they also helped protect our local streams, such as Fenwick Branch and Rock Creek.   VIEW PHOTOS.
