Certification of Presidential General Election Results by Montgomery County Board of Canvassers

The Maryland State Board of Elections has provided clarification of the State Law regarding the county Boards of Canvassers and the processes required in order to certify the results of the election Presidential General Election.  The Election will be certified once the canvassing (tabulation) of all absentee and provisional ballots and all audit procedures have been completed. 

Due to the number of absentee and provisional ballots received, the Montgomery County Board of Canvassers anticipates certification on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 2:30 p.m.  The Board of Canvassers will meet in open session at that time in the Gaithersburg office.  Please check our website, www.777vote.org, throughout the canvass process for updates, as this date and time may change, as well as for further information about the schedule for the canvass of absentee ballots and provisional ballots, which will last multiple days and is open to the public.  The absentee ballot canvass will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, and the provisional ballot canvass will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16.
