Parents interested in registering a child for Head Start should call MCPS Early Childhood Programs and Services at 301-230-0676
Documents To Bring
MCPS will advise parents/guardians about required documents during registration.
Eligibility Requirements
Family Income under Federal Poverty Level (see link). To enroll in the four year old program, children must be four years old by September 1st of the calendar year. To enroll in the three year old program (limited spaces/location), children must be three by September 1st of the calendar year.
Fees and Payments
Head Start is federally funded. Parents may utilize publicly-funded child care subsidies (Working Parents Assistance or Purchase of Care) to help pay for before/after child care or privately pay for extended hours. To find out if you are eligible for Purchase of Care (POC) or Working Parents Assistance (WPA), please call 240-777-1155.
