Birth and Death Certificates (Vital Records)
The program issues certified death certificates for 30 days from the date of death, when filed at the county office. Disinternment permits (no charge) are issued with the assistance of a licensed funeral home. Montgomery County does not provide birth certificates. Birth certificates for people born in the State of Maryland are provided through the Maryland State Division of Vital Records, www.vsa.state.md.gov or 410-764-3036.
