How to Apply
Apply in person at closest regional office (Silver Spring, Rockville or Germantown). Walk-in appointments available. Call local office to schedule an appointment, if needed.
Documents To Bring
- Photo ID for all adults living in household
- Birth certificate and social security cards for all household members
- Current balance for checking and savings account
- Proof of monthly income
- Proof of expenses (utility bills, phone bills, car expenses, child care, rent/mortgage)
- Court notice or eviction notice from Sheriff’s Office
- “Put Out” letter from landlord
- Utility bill indicating disconnection date or that service is OFF
