As part of your holiday preparations this year, let two professional mediators teach you some tried and true conflict resolution techniques that will work will all members of the family.

John Spiegel, JD, an attorney, full-time mediator and mediation trainer, has a private divorce mediation practice in Rockville, Md. A graduate of Yale Law School, he serves as the President of the Montgomery County Divorce Roundtable, an interdisciplinary professional organization. He was the 2003 and 2004 President of the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution (MCDR), a statewide alternative dispute resolution practitioners’ organization. John teaches mediation and conflict resolution at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and at the University of Maryland, College Park, and he has presented mediation workshops at several national conferences.
