Affordable Sale and Rental Homes Available
If your income and household size meet the guidelines, you may be eligible to purchase a Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) in Montgomery County.  MPDU apartment rentals are also available.
 
Leggett, Federal and State Housing Official Highlight Acquisition and Rehabilitation of Vacant Foreclosed Homes
On June 3, 2010, County Executive Isiah Leggett joined County Council President Nancy Floreen, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Deputy Secretary Clarence Snuggs, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development D. C. Field Office Director John Hall, Maryland Delegate Craig Rice, and Housing Opportunities Commission (HOC) Executive Director Annie Alston to tour a formerly vacant foreclosed property in Germantown. Federal and State funding enabled HOC to acquire and renovate 16 vacant foreclosed properties to provide affordable housing for families earning less that 50 percent of the area median income (AMI).
 
County’s Foreclosure Initiatives Named Best Government Initiative by Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers
Montgomery County’s comprehensive approach to foreclosure prevention received the Best Government Initiative Award presented by the Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers (HAND) on June 7, 2010, at HAND’s 19th Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon.  Awards recognize creative, innovative approaches that result in quality programs and are open to HAND members in the greater Washington,  D. C. area, from Baltimore to Richmond.
