Hey All! As I was looking through the new winter Recreation and Leisure Guide, I found some remarkable and wonderful new classes and programs. The new Dynamic Art class sounds fun! Crazy Cactus, Blazing Banyan tree, and Reptile Relief - what in the world could this mean? This art class for 7 to 12 year olds uses paints, paper chalk, pastels, markets, glue and more! For the adult artist the new Wedding & Formal Invitations class is a cost effective means to make professional and creative invitations.
For those of us, that love to sham it up, did you see the new Acting Workshop for Kids and Acting for Teens? These programs offer acting with a twist. The actors use the theater as an avenue to voice and express concern for social issues. Need a laugh? Take a look at the Comedy Cabaret or the Kids Comedy College & Cabaret.
There are so many classes, programs and services in the new issue of the Recreation and Leisure Guide! You can view the Recreation and Leisure Guide on-line at: http://recweb.montgomerycountymd.gov

Hey! I just found out...there is a big party coming up.
On November 15th the Wisconsin Place is having their GRAND OPENING!
The Wisconsin Place is the newest Community Center located at 5311 Friendship Blvd., Chevy Chase, MD; you definitely want to get that address on your GPS. I know more...I found out you can get into Wisconsin Place now, before the grand opening. There are classes, a gym, an exercise and weight room, a tot playground, art room, and social halls. The gym is so shiny, you can see your reflection, but most people just use it for sports and games. Make sure to stop by and check it out before the big party. Dave Branick the Center director is awesome and has some really big plans. Make sure you make it to this party; there will be tours, activities, demonstrations and some really awesome people to welcome you to the Center. See you at the party!
Hey! Have you heard, I am a television star! YIPPEE! The latest episode of Destination Recreation is airing on Cable Montgomery, Channel 6. The show has some great information. Take a look at the show and then drop me an e-mail at T.Recs@montgomerycountymd.gov to let you know what you think!
Hey, T-Recs here, the friendly dinosaur that found a home with the Department of Recreation in March, 2006. I love the Department of Recreation because we are all about endless fun and I love fun! Whether at the swimming pool, a softball game, summer camp or dance class, there is always fun!
I wanted to start a blog to recount all my adventures with the Department of Recreation. It’s a great way to keep in touch with and hear from my friends. I will update the blog regularly with pictures, announcements, and will also be sharing your comments and feedback (so please e-mail). Whether the Silver Sneakers program, the awesome classes and programs or the new Wisconsin Place opening - there is always fun to be had…with the Department of Recreation.
You won't believe this...I stopped off at the Glenmont Pool on September 12th. Something you don't see every day, 300 dogs swimming in the pool. It was the annual Pool Pooch Party! There were dogs everywhere...it was pet-tacular! I have never seen so many drenched pups in my life. The dogs had a great time romping in the water and us two-legged folk loved watching the dogs splashing around.
I have to run, I am on my way to see what else I can find. Don’t forget…keep checking back and please e-mail at T.Recs@montgomerycountymd.gov . I would love to hear from you. Let me know you if you go to any of the Department of Recreation programs, events, classes, or activities.
