This year&amp;rsquo;s task force is comprised of the 7 full-time members of the Montgomery County Police Alcohol Initiatives Unit, along with representatives from each of the six Montgomery County police districts. They are joined by officers from the Maryland-National Capital Park Police Montgomery County Division, Maryland State Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff&amp;rsquo;s Office, and the Gaithersburg Police Department. Beginning Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, the department will kick off its new &amp;ldquo;Shop with a Cop&amp;rdquo; initiative. It will run through Christmas Eve December 24. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Officers in all six of the Montgomery County police districts will be detailed to shopping areas in their districts to provide high visibility, extra security, and to provide reminders about driving and pedestrian safety--especially in parking lots. Officers will be distributing approximately 5000 bright green reflective and recyclable shopping bags with a driver and pedestrian safety message printed on them. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Approximately 22% of reported pedestrian collisions in Montgomery County occur in parking lots. The second suspect is the wife of the man who was arrested and charged yesterday for the homicide. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maria Blanco, age 22, of the 12200 block of Judson Road in Wheaton was charged early this morning with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Through the course of this investigation it was learned that the victim, Samuel De Jesus Chacon, age 34, of the 8300 block of Verona Drive in New Carrollton, had a child with Maria Blanco. Over the past several years there had been visitation issues between Chacon and Blanco over the couple&amp;rsquo;s six-year-old child. He crossed the southbound lanes of 16th Street successfully. As he was crossing the northbound lanes of 16th Street he was struck by a black 2002 Mercedes Benz C320 driven by Andrew Pace, age 47, of the 13500 block of Travilah Road in Gaithersburg. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mr. Guy was transported to Washington Hospital Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Last night, Echols was arrested in the area of Georgia Avenue and Shorefield Road in Wheaton and charged with first-degree rape, attempted first-degree rape, robbery, and first-degree assault. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He is being held on a no bond status at the Montgomery County Police Detention Center. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On Saturday, November 14, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a 24-year-old female victim exited a Ride On bus at a stop on Bel Pre Road near Grand Pre Road in Wheaton.
