CHILD CARE PROGRAM IN MCPS

Introduction

The Interagency Coordinating Board (ICB) for the Community Use of Public Facilities has been supporting quality before and after school licensed child care programming for over 20 years.  There are now 112 State licensed child care school-aged programs in Montgomery County Public Schools.

In FY08 the ICB modified the procedures requiring a re-bid of all before and after school child care placements every five years in order to ensure consistency with generally accepted procurement practices and to facilitate greater access to school space for all child care providers regardless of size and tenure.
