For instructions on the proper disposal of ammunition and explosives, please contact the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service's Fire & Explosive Investigations Section at 240-777-2255 or their Non-Emergency Line at 240-683-6520. The Fire & Rescue Service no longer accepts ammunition from the public; however, it maintains a list of resources and will refer you to the ones appropriate for your material.

The Division of Solid Waste cannot accept ammunition or explosives in any of its collection programs or at its hazardous waste events.
