How to recycle/dispose of ash

County facilities accepting ash:
 Solid Waste Transfer Station

Haulers do not accept ash with regular household trash. It is accepted at our Solid Waste Transfer Station for disposal.

Please speak to the Transfer Station's Drop-off Area attendants for instructions on where to place the ash. (The Transfer Station has a special container for this.) If you arrive by truck at the Shady Grove Road entrance, please speak to the scale house staff for further instructions.

The concern with ash is always that it could be hot.
