County facilities accepting aluminum foil products:
* Solid Waste Transfer Station

aluminum cans, bimetal (steel) cans and tins, and aluminum foil products

We accept these items in your blue recycling bin:

  • All metal food, beverage, and pet food cans
  • Aluminum foil products
    • Examples: foil wrap, pie plates, and other food trays
  • Tins from cookies, fruit cakes, popcorn, and similar items
  • Non-hazardous aerosol cans and caps
    • Examples: whipped topping, spray cooking oil, deodorant, hair spray, shaving cream

For larger items, please see Scrap Metal.

Please rinse all containers, removing the tops and lids, and wipe foil clean before placing these materials in your blue bin.

Sorry, we do not accept these items in your blue bin

  • Hazardous aerosol cans
    • Please put empty aerosol cans with automotive, pesticide or other potentially hazardous residues into your regular household trash. Bring aerosol cans with remaining hazardous products to a Household Hazardous Waste drop-off.
  • Any other container that held automotive products or hazardous materials.
  • Any container holding syringes or other sharps. Also, never place syringes or other sharps directly in the blue bin.

What about the lids?

  • attached metal lids
    • If the lid is still attached to the can, tuck the lid inside the can. Then, place the can into your blue bin.
  • detached metal lids
    • If possible, put the detached lid into the can, and squeeze the can to trap the lid inside. Then, place the can into your blue bin.
    • Otherwise, place the detached, loose lid into your blue bin along with the can.
  • plastic lids
