Thursday, November 26, 2009: Thanksgiving Day - No County-provided recycling or trash collections on November 26; Thursday and Friday collections that week shift by one day. Transfer Station closes at 5 p.m. on November 25; closed November 26.

Effective September 21, 2009, our recycling program expanded to accept additional blue bin and mixed paper items!

How to recycle/dispose of oil, motor and other

Curbside collection: No
County facilities accepting oil, motor and other:
* Household Hazardous Waste drop-off events
* Solid Waste Transfer Station

Residents may bring up to 5 gallons of motor oil, most other oils, hydraulic fluids, and kerosene. Look for collection containers in the center of the Recycling section (under the pavillion) of the Public Unloading Area during normal operating hours.

So that the oil may be recycled, please do not mix it with any other fluids.

These oils and fluids are also accepted at Household Hazardous Waste collection events. The same 5-gallon limit applies.

Some area gas and services stations accept used motor oil. Check with stations near you.

What do I do with plastic motor oil bottles?

Please dispose of empty plastic motor oil bottles as trash.

Because motor oil is a hazardous material, do not recycle the empty plastic motor oil bottles in your blue bin or other recycling collection.
