How to recycle/dispose of mattresses

Curbside collection: Special
County facilities accepting mattresses:
* Beauty Spot: Poolesville
* Solid Waste Transfer Station

Sorry, Montgomery County's mattress recycling program has been discontinued.

You may continue to dispose of mattresses and box springs as trash at the County facilities listed above, or curbside via a bulk trash collection.

Some local charitable organizations continue to accept mattress donations. Mattresses must be dry; free of rips, stains, and tears; and in excellent, reusable condition. Some organizations accept only mattresses with box springs.
