County Traffic Signal Computer Problem Resolved; Friday Rush Hour Should Improve but Ride On will again be Free

MCDOT has successfully resolved the problem with its malfunctioning traffic signal computer. Engineers reestablished the connection between the computer and the traffic signals early in the evening (November 5th).  Most intersection signals are now responding to commands issued at the Division of Traffic Operations's Transportation Management Center.

Though the traffic signal communication system appears to be fixed, engineers continue to work on individual signals that are not consistently responding.  Engineers will continue to monitor the situation throughout the evening and overnight but anticipate that tomorrow morning’s (November 6) rush hour will be much smoother.

To continue to assist commuters, the County Executive directed Ride On buses to be free again on Friday (November 6).  For the full County Executive statement, visit the County's website.   For Ride On schedules, visit the Division of Transit Services's website.  To learn about this and other traffic incidents, visit the Division of Traffic Operations's website.
