employment, job training and placement services for people with disabilities

Vehicle Donations:
Your car must be in running and driveable condition. The vehicle must be titled
and registered in your name and completely paid, although they will accept vehicles

- 1987 or newer foreign models
- classic cars (they determine what's classic)
- boats on trailers

The Military Order of the Purple Heart through its Service Foundation is classified by IRS as a 501(c)(4) organization. As such, all donations are tax deductible by the donor. Funds received as a result of these donations are used to defray expenses in helping veterans in a variety of circumstances, but primarily in processing claims against the government resulting from service-connected maladies that worsen through the aging process.

The St. Rose of Lima Furniture Program provides an invaluable service to those in our community who live in empty houses and sleep on the floor of their homes. They pick up furniture from those who are down-sizing or upgrading and deliver these pieces to those who are in need —- free of charge. Service area for pickup: 20874, 20876, 20877, 20878, 20879, 20886. Accepted:
- Clean and usable furniture items
- If already coming for larger items, they will also take small household
items
- Examples: Linens, kitchenware, small appliances, vacuum cleaners, lamps
Not accepted:
- Soiled, Ripped or Broken Furniture (they have no facility for cleaning
and repair)
- Large Appliances (Most of their clients live in subsidized apartments.)
- Sofa Beds (a liability for their volunteers)
- Clothes, Toys or Books

Getting Them Sober is a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit organization providing information and support to families dealing with a member's addition to alcohol. They accept furniture and other unwanted or no-longer-needed items. No broken items, please. Past donations have even included old medical instruments, old broadway playbills, and collectibles from college days. At-home furniture pickup is offered.
