The five winners of Montgomery County’s 2008 Path of Achievement Awards were recognized at a reception in their honor at The Strathmore Mansion.  County Executive Isaiah Leggett (center) presented the awards to (from left): Irene Spector, John Miers, Ruth Emerson, John Lopes, and Joann Woodson.

The Path of Achievement Award was established in 1998 to honor older County residents whose work and spirit have led to special accomplishment in personal and community endeavors.  The honorees were selected from among the following categories:  Advocacy, Community Service, Sports & Fitness and Workplace Contribution. The Path of Achievement Award is sponsored by The Beacon, Strathmore and The Gazette.
