SENIOR CHECKED GRANT
Senior Checked, a nonprofit organization, invites you to become a community partner to help protect seniors from fraud and exploitation. Senior Checked now has $250 community grants available. The purpose of the grant is to help spread awareness about fraud and exploitation to neighborhoods across DC Metro Area and to help spread the word about the Senior Checked directory to residents who can benefit from this valuable service that is free to seniors and their families. SENIOR SUMMIT

We are very pleased to inform you that the Senior Summit website,  has been updated to include a variety of documents that summarize the results of the Summit and the steps the County is embarking on to make the County a better place for seniors to live.  Documents that you can find on the updated website include an Executive Summary, Goals and Recommendations by Workgroups, and Cross Cutting Initiatives. 

 

Also, in response to numerous requests, we have created an electronic “Seniors and Caregivers newsletter.”  Subscribers will receive automatic updates on events and meetings of interest in their community, new or modified programs, benefits and services, changes in policies and/or laws, and other relevant information for seniors and caregivers.  Subscribe today by clicking on the link immediately below and checking “Seniors and Caregivers.”

A Message about Medicare & You - New in 2009 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service is happy to bring to Medicare beneficiaries an electronic option to getting their Medicare and You handbooks each year. In an effort to go green and save tax payer dollars starting this fall all Medicare beneficiaries that sign up on http://www.mymedicare.gov/ by May 31, 2009 will get their Medicare and You books electronically.
