Status: Preliminary plan, project plan and Reed Street abandonment have been approved with conditions and modifications. Applicant filed a Project Plan Amendment and Preliminary Plan Amendment and a Site Plan for the southern portion of the site on November 19, 2008.
Summary: Optional method, mixed-use development including the addition of a 250 dwelling unit (32 MPDUs) building, a 250 room hotel and 12,214 s.f. of retail space were previously approved by the Planning Board. The site is located at the corner of Elm Street and Woodmont Avenue. The approved plans include an important public space along Woodmont Avenue which received much public input. The pending Project Plan Amendment and Preliminary Plan Amendment propose a change in use from residential to office and eliminate the previously approved bridge over the Georgetown Branch Trail. The pending Site Plan which comprises the southern portion of the site is for a building containing 9,000 s.f. of ground floor retail and 208,579 s.f. of office.
