The courtroom clerks’ main responsibility is to accurately record all court proceedings in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. The courtroom clerks document key courtroom events, which are subsequently entered into the Court’s case management system. The courtroom clerks utilize a computer system known as CourtSmart, which digitally records court proceedings and keeps a running electronic log of all courtroom events. The courtroom clerks collaborate with several Offices and Departments within the Court including but not limited to: the Clerk of the Court, Court Administration, and the Assignment Office. The Office of Courtroom Clerks is an integral component to the efficient functioning of the Montgomery County Circuit Court.
