Renewable Energy Incentives

Thanks to the thousands of consumers who have enrolled in Clean Energy Rewards, Montgomery County residents, businesses, and organizations have avoided over 21,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions through the purchase of clean energy. 

The program sold out last year, but with additional funding (thanks to those who emailed requesting more funding!) the Department of Environmental Protection will open the program to new participants in October.

Coming Soon!  Sign-up for Clean Energy Rewards

Montgomery County is helping you make the switch to clean energy!  You will receive rewards automatically when you sign-up for clean energy through a Clean Energy Rewards energy supplier or REC marketer.

County residents, businesses, and other organizations will receive a monetary reward for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of eligible clean energy used.  Depending on the product selected the cost of clean energy through the program ranges from 1.5 to 5 cents more than standard electricity.  Rewards through this program will offset the additional cost of clean energy by 10-30%.
