Welcome to the Division of Facilities Maintenance.


DFM delivers operational and mission critical services 24 hours a day seven days a week on behalf of County residents and Montgomery County Government. DFM manages over 275 County facilities, ensuring they are maintained at the highest level to provide a comfortable environment for employees as well as, as well as, the public. DFM consists of Facility Management, Engineering Services, Maintenance repairs, building renovations and inspection services.


Mission of the Division of Facilities Management


The Division of Facilities Management (DFM)is a customer-driven support organization responsible for providing facilities management services to all agencies and offices, within available resources.

We are committed to planning, developing and maintaining a safe, sustainable and high quality working environment for County residents and employees of Montgomery County Government.

Office Hours Monday – Friday 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. All calls after 4:00 P.M. and on weekends are forwarded to a Standby Supervisor via M.C. Security.

Division of Facility Management

Business Operations:

Business Operations Comprises of various sections within Division of Facilities Management.


Maintenance Renovation Inspectors: This section has a MRI Supervisor and 6 (MRI's) in charge ot planning, estimating, and managing repair/renovation/remodeling projects throughout the Coutny. This unit also performs Capitatl Improvement Projects which involve Roofing, Electrical, HVAC, Elevator Modernization and Life Safety.


Engineering Services: This section provides a comprehensive review and analysis of design documents and specifications for new and existing facilities. This review includes compliance with design, energy, and efficiency guidelines. Also Engineering Services performs complete and comprehensive investigations regarding indoor  air quality concerns and other engineerig related issues.


Administrative Support: Performs Operating and Capital Accounting which involve tracking over 200 invoices on a monthly basis and coordinating review and payment of these invoices to insure timely payment are made. This section also coordinates proper review of contracts with DFM and provides  written correspondances to County and Public as required.

Operations Services include:


Facility maintenance: serves internal and external customers by creating, tracking, issuing and completing preventive and on-demand work orders for a speedy resolution to malfunctions and needs within facilities.


Automated Energy Management: Monitor selected County Facilities for HVAC, Lighting and Fire Alarm operation through our Building Automation Systems. Remotely adjust temperatures, schedules and troubleshoots systems from Operations Center. Reduce energy and Hot/Cold calls typically responded to by mechanics.


Supply Section: Provides Maintenance Repair and Operation supply for nearly 300 County owned and leased facilities.
