Linkages to Learning, a Collaborative School-based Partnership among the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Montgomery County Public Schools, Public and Private Agencies, Families and Communities

Other Key School and Community Members on the Linkages Team

The school principal or his/her designee works closely with the Linkages site coordinator (and the Linkages Resource Team) to adopt and adapt collaborative policies and procedures for the Linkages program. The administrator is the chief leader in ensuring collaborative procedures for the Linkages program in the designated school. Referral procedures and service questions are usually coordinated with input or guidance from the administrator.

The pupil personnel worker (PPW) can be a consultant to the Linkages team on a variety of issues such as MCPS policies and procedures, behavior management techniques, attendance, guardianship/residency, student records, transfers, special education and alternative programs.

The school psychologist conducts formal school psychological evaluations of identified students for school educational planning and placement, behavior management planning, and consultation with or referral to available resources in MCPS and the community at large. The psychologist provides program consultation to MCPS staff and parents. He/she also provides counseling and other therapeutic intervention for students, parents and staff and provides in-service training.
