Automated Traffic Enforcement -- Helping Save Lives

I got a ticket.  Now what?

A ticket issued through Montgomery County’s automated traffic enforcement program is the same as a Parking violation ticket issued by the county.  You may pay the fine, which is an admission of guilt, or you may request a hearing.  If you were not driving the vehicle at the time of the violation, you must identify the driver and supply the driver’s license number to Montgomery County police.  Directions are included on the back of each ticket mailed.

If you request a hearing, it will be conducted by an impartial adjudicator. At the hearing, you will be presented with photographs of the violation. Motorists have the opportunity to present any information that challenges or mitigates the violation.  After reviewing the evidentiary package and the motorist’s information, the adjudicator will render a decision.

Failure to respond to the ticket can result in additional fees and penalties.
