BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH … The Montgomery County Council on Oct. 9 re-affirmed its support in the fight against breast cancer by declaring October as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” in the County. Healthcare providers from around the County attended ceremonies in Rockville in which Councilmember Nancy Floreen (front, third from left) presented a proclamation to Raquel Samson, project manager for the Silver Spring-based Komen Community-Academic Partnership Grant Center for Health Improvement. At far left is Merle Steiner, a member of Councilmember Floreen’s staff and a breast cancer survivor.
