Take the 2008 Change the World Challenge (and help us make Montgomery County a winner)!

We urge all residents and businesses to take the 2008 Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Campaign—to encourage everyone to take energy-saving measures at home such as switching to energy-efficient lighting or improving heating and cooling performance.  Take the pledge to Change the World online at www.energystar.gov/changetheworld and commit to reducing your home energy consumption.  You will receive a 10 percent discount from Office Depot on its Office Depot Green Brand compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), starting August 1.  The County with the most number of pledges in each size category will receive 1,000 compact fluorescent light bulbs from Office Depot.

If every household in Montgomery County replaced one frequently used incandescent light bulb with a CFL, they would collectively save over 2 million dollars a year and reduce as much carbon dioxide as removing 1,800 cars from our roads.
