Commuter Express Store in Silver Spring Has a New Name and New Location!
Montgomery County's Silver Spring Commuter Express Store has a new name – TRiPS – and a new location at 8413 Ramsey Avenue. TRiPS stands for “Transportation Resources, Information and Places to See”
Soon, Silver Spring will have a brand new state-of-the-art transit facility, the Silver Spring Transit Center (SSTC). To better serve commuters, TRiPS,formerly Commuter Express, has a new name, a new look and a new convenient location.
Existing transit system riders, new riders and visitors will receive assistance when purchasing fare media or making connections to regional public transportation. And our walk-up window and accessible ramp allow for quick and easy service.

Fare Share and Super Fare Share Program Enhancements for 2008
Montgomery County’s Fare Share and Super Fare Share transit benefits programs have been significantly enhanced for the coming year. Super Fare Share has received additional funding and now includes longer program length, a new annual maximum subsidy for employers, an increase in the tax-free benefit available each month to employees and a progressive employer contribution. On January 1st, the monthly Federal tax-free benefit was raised to $115!
Park & Ride Commuter Lots-- A handy guide to free parking along the I-270 and US 29 corridors. This free brochure helps commuters find free parking closer to home where they can meet a carpool or vanpool or take public transportation to work. To request free copies click here.
