The Office of Fire Code Enforcement is primarily responsible for:
Preventive inspections for places of assembly, and any occupied facility with in Montgomery County. Our Fire Marshals enforce Montgomery County Government Fire Prevention Codes and Maryland State Fire Prevention Codes. They also investigate fires, Life Safety Code violations, and complaints.
We strive for the highest standard of service here in Montgomery County. By seeking out, informing, encouraging and assisting our local county residents and contractors with all aspects of Life Safety Codes, Fire Prevention, and Fire Code Enforcement. Fire Code Enforcement has a broad authority and is responsible for adopting and enforcing County wide policies, regulations, standards, procedures, plans, and programs applicable to all fire, rescue, and emergency medical service operations.
The following personnel conduct Use & Occupancy (U & O, Group Homes, Enforcement) inspections, Day Care inspection, Fire Alarm tests, and test Hood & Duct systems in their area.
