The Older Adults Medicaid Waiver gives eligible low-income adults the options of receiving long-term care services in a community-based setting, rather than in a nursing home. Participants may receive such services and resources as personal care, respite care, home delivered meals, training, personal response systems, assisted living placement and more.
Space in this program is limited. The State maintains a list of individuals interested in receiving services. To place a name on this list - called "the Waiver Services Registry" - call 1-866-417-3480 (toll free). Registrants are notified as openings in the program become available.
These services are available without a wait to people who wish to leave a nursing home, and whose stay in the nursing home has been paid by Long-Term Care Medicaid for 30 days or more.
