What can I donate?
Most libraries
accept donations of books on an on-going basis.
Local conditions, as decided by branch management,
determine book sale limits and parameters (when we
accept donations, what types of materials we accept,
etc.) We welcome materials in very good to excellent
condition but can not accept textbooks, magazines,
or dirty, mildewed, smoke/dust damaged or torn materials.
Please contact your local
branch if you are uncertain
about items which you want to donate.
Where can I bring my donation? To donate materials, please bring them into the
building and to the Check Out Desk. Please do not
deposit donations into the bookdrop or leave them
outside of the building.
Which branches have book sales? Book sales are sponsored by the Friends
of the Library. Check the Book Sale Schedule for
special book sales held in the branches.
Many branches have on-going book sales:
Can I get a tax receipt?
Tax receipts for your donations are available upon
request. To obtain one, you must have a count of
the type of items donated (i. e. hardbounds, paperbacks,
records, etc.) The library will verify the number
but will not place a valuation on any materials donated.
Where else can I donate books?
The following groups also
accept book donations. Please contact each group
directly for more information on the types of donations
that
are accepted.
