After School Tutor
Volunteers are needed to tutor elementary and middle school-aged students
one on one or in groups. Tutors help students with homework or help
them catch up on skills in an academic setting.
Adult ESOL Instructor
Instructors are needed to teach ESOL (English as a Second Language) to
parents of children at elementary and middle schools. Instructors teach
classes that help parents build basic life and language skills, help
parents gain employment, and help parents participate in the school
community. A stipend is associated with this position.
ESOL Teaching Assistant
Volunteer teachings assistants are needed to assist Adult ESOL instructors
in class, facilitate activities, work with students individually and
in groups, and act as English conversational partners.
Spanish Literacy Tutors
Volunteers are needed to tutor Spanish-speaking adults in Spanish literacy
and alphabetization. The volunteer will be working with adults with
little or no formal education and must be fluent in Spanish.
Computer Class Instructor
Volunteer computer instructors are needed to teach basic computer skills
to parents of elementary and middle school-aged children. Instructors
will teach basic skills such as turning on the computer, opening a
document, navigating the Internet, and sending an e-mail.
Child Care Provider
Volunteers are needed to care for children of all ages while parents
attend weekly classes or meetings at elementary and middle schools.
Administrative and Clerical Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to assist with administrative and clerical work
at various Linkages to Learning sites. Both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking volunteers are needed weekdays
and evenings.
