What is Performance Matters!
Montgomery County's Performance Matters! is the framework for two programs,
Workforce Performance Management (WPM) and Rewarding Excellence/Gain
Sharing. These programs use human and technological resources to improve
performance and deliver results.

Workforce Performance Management (WPM)
Workforce Performance Management (WPM) is an online human resources
information technology application. The key module in WPM is performance
management. This tool is used to implement the systematic performance
management process and to facilitate the alignment of the County's
priority objectives to Department Objectives and subsequently employee
objectives.

Rewarding
Excellence/Gainsharing
Rewarding Excellence/Gain sharing is a team-based bonus award program.
Front-line employees form teams that represent their departments.
When these teams research, present to the Review Panel, and implement
solutions with documented savings, teams share a portion of the
documented savings.
