The Information Support and Analysis Division is the repository of all official Department-generated reports and statistics. Its primary focus is to ensure the integrity of the Department's reporting system and to maintain reports in a variety of informational systems to be retrieved as needed.
The Information Support and Analysis Division is responsible for maintaining 24-hours-per-day operational access to central records including incident reports, arrest histories, expungement of records, and photographs. The Division ensures the integrity of the entire police reporting system, provides numerous services to police personnel, outside agencies and the public, and coordinates the management of the following units to best serve the community and the Department:
- Records Management Section
- Data Systems Section
- Telephone Reporting Unit
- Crime Analysis Section
The Information Support and Analysis Division is commanded by Captain Mitch Cunningham, who reports directly to the Assistant Chief of Police, Management Services Bureau, and is responsible for the overall operation of the Division. Each section in turn is managed by a supervisor who is responsible for the daily operation of each unit.
The Records Management Section provides customer service to the public and police officers by providing information and support services. This function includes requests for reports, data processing of arrest and liaison with the Central Processing Unit.
The Data Systems Section is responsible for the Data Entry Section, Report Review Section, Expungements, and Arrest Quality Control.
The Telephone Reporting Unit, managed by Peggy Lyles, provides operational support to the Field Services Bureau and the Investigative Services Bureau by providing telephone-based reporting services directly to the citizens. This frees officers to handle emergency and in-progress calls and to provide other essential services requiring on-scene response. |
