Early-Bird Look at New Winter Guide
The 2008 Winter Guide is loaded with great events and activities. The guides arrive at local community centers, libraries and government offices Nov. 10, Class registration opens Nov. 19. Here's a preview:

• Nov. 17-18: Potomac Community Center annual table tennis tournanment. All levels of competition. Pick up an entry fee at the center or by calling 240-777-6960. Spectators welcomed.

• Nov. 17: Girls on the Run 5k Race, South Germantown Park, 7:45 a.m. $20 per runner. Family-oriented race and fundraiser for 3rd-5th grade Girls on the Run. Race registration through www.active.com. Call 240-777-6826.

• Dec. 1: Annual Holiday Happenings Juried Craft Show at Bauer Drive Community Center, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., no admission fee. Over 100 outstanding artists and crafters will be displaying their works. Call 301-468-4015.

SOAR December Trips Are Full
