Mid-County Regional Recreation Advisory Board

This Board advises the County Executive, County Council, and the Department of Recreation and the Planning Board on regional recreation and park issues. It encourages the development of desirable parks and recreational opportunities, and advises and makes recommendations to appropriate officials on matters concerning budgets, recreation programs, services, and facilities.

The Board is composed of nine regular members and two alternates. Alternates serve in place of an absent member and assume a regular member's position if there is a resignation. Members must reside in the Mid-County Region of Montgomery County. This area includes Upper Rock Creek, Wheaton, Kensington, Kemp Mill, Aspen Hill, Glenmont, Norbeck, Forest Glen, Olney, Brookeville, and Sandy Spring. Members serve three-year terms without compensation. Any current openings on the Board are reflected below.

Meeting dates/times/location

Board meets first Thursday of each month with the exception of July and August which are the months the Board does not meet.
