Down County
Recreation Advisory Board (DCRAB)

The DCRAB advises the County Executive , County Council, and the Department of Recreation and the Planning Board on regional recreation and park needs. It encourages the development of desirable parks and recreational opportunities, and advises and makes recommendations to appropriate officials on matters concerning budgets, recreation programs, services, and facilities in the Down County Region.

The Board is composed of nine regular members and two alternatives. Alternatives serve in place of an absent member and assume a regular member's position if there is a resignation. Members must reside in the Down County Region of Montgomery County including the areas of Potomac, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, North Bethesda/Garrett Park, and West Silver Spring.

Members serve three-year terms without compensation. Meetings are generally held the first Tuesday evening of the month at one of the Region's community centers.
