East County Regional Job Fair
The Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center is hosting a Job Fair on Thursday, November 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. The Fair will take place in the East County Recreation Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring. More than 50 employers are expected to attend, providing job-seekers with information on current job openings, taking applications and resumes, and providing on-site interviews.
Persons interested in getting assistance with preparing or editing their resumes can attend a Resume Writing Workshop on October 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center. The Center is located adjacent to the Community Center, at 3300 Briggs Chaney Road.
The Job Fair is co-sponsored by Councilmember Don Praisner, Montgomery Works, Manpower, Jewish Council for the Aging, Commission for Women and the East County Recreation Center are. For more information call 240-777-8400.

Free ESOL Classes: The Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center has openings in their evening ESOL classes (English for Speakers of Other Languages) for adults. The classes are open to all wishing to learn English. Classes are for beginner and intermediate/advanced levels and are provided by the Chinese Culture and Community Center. They are held on Tuesday evenings from 6-8:30 p.m. and run for 20 consecutive weeks. All classes are offered free of charge, however, a $10 refundable deposit and $20 book fee are required. All classes are held at the Regional Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Road, Silver Spring.To sign up for a class, or to receive more information, call 240-777-8400.
Montgomery County Police encourage residents to communicate/Join County Gang Prevention Task Force
The Montgomery County Police Department has a Gang Tip Hotline available to report gang activity in Montgomery County. Call the Gang Tip Hotline at 240-773-GANG (240-773-4264), 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to leave an anonymous tip. We welcome the community’s continued interest in this issue. Neighborhood Beautification Grants Available: Applications Will Be Reviewed This Fall - Keep Montgomery County Beautiful (KMCB) is reviewing grant applications to fund beautification projects that help improve the appearance of communities throughout Montgomery County.
