AFTER HOURS ASSISTANCE
If you need immediate assistance because you are locked out of the building you reserved or if you are unable to locate staff in the building, please call the Emergency Message Number at 240/777-2727. Only use this Emergency Message Number when IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED ON EVENINGS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. Call the main office at 240/777-2706 for all other times.

INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELLATION GUIDELINES
The ICB's philosophy regarding cancellations has always been to keep facilities open to the public to the extent possible, taking into consideration safety and security issues, with the understanding that groups can cancel use on their own based on their comfort levels.

If community use in public facilities is officially cancelled by the Director of Community Use of Public Facilities, a full refund of the day's rental fees (in the form of credit to the account) will be issued.

Cancellation of weekday community use of schools will be in effect if schools are closed for the day. That decision is made by MCPS.

If schools are scheduled for a delayed opening or if schools complete the day, a decision will be made by the Director of CUPF and users will be notified as follows:

1) message on the main line 240-777-2706
2) message on CUPF website
3) message will be shared with media (TV and radio stations)

Cancellation of Child Care programs follow the cancellation schedule for MCPS administrative offices. If the MCPS administrative offices are closed, child care programs are cancelled. Delayed openings for "administrative offices" mean a delayed start for Child Care programs. Delayed openings for "schools only" mean Child Care programs may open on time.

Cancellation of weekday community activities scheduled by CUPF in the EOB, COB, libraries, and Regional Services Centers (use after 5:00 p.m.) If during the course of any weekday, the weather changes and cancellation is necessary, the above notification process will be implemented immediately to inform user groups. Decision is generally made around noon.

Cancellation of weekend (Saturdays and Sundays) community activities scheduled by CUPF in schools, EOB, COB, libraries, and Regional Services Centers will be made by the Director of Community Use of Public Facilities office by 7:00 a.m. The above notification process will be implemented immediately to inform user groups. Please always check the mainline message and this page. The media may or may not include the government buildings in their cancellation announcements.

Cancellation of weekend community use activities in schools does not necessarily include the cancellation of the above government facilities. If the closing of schools is due to something other than inclement weather (such as plowing) then the message will state only schools.
