What People in Montgomery County Need to Know
Please visit The Maryland Department of Health and Human Services West Nile Virus Facts webpage or The Centers for Disease Control Fight the Bite website for information about West Nile Virus.
Checklist for Mosquitoes' Breeding Sites
This checklist was developed by the Department of Health and Human Services for homeowners and property managers to use while inspecting for potential mosquito breeding areas. Dozens of common "artificial" breeding sites are identified, and simple solutions are offered to eliminate these breeding areas.
West Nile Virus & Stormwater Management
Due to heightened media attention about the potential of West Nile Virus to affect residents, the County has been receiving inquiries about the dangers that streams, wetlands, ponds, and stormwater facilities may pose as potential breeding areas for the Culex mosquito.
